Adulting (v): to do grown up things and hold responsibilities such as, a 9-5 job, a mortgage, a car payment, or anything else that makes one think of grown ups.
It's a real thing. One day you wake up and the glory days of being homecoming queen in high school and president of numerous college organizations are over. The glamour of your first big-girl job is fading and the reality of 'this is it' begins to set in. Evan and I are facing this adulting thing head on: 2017 brought us two new jobs, two new cars (cough car payments), a new house (and mortgage), and a marriage license (a lifetime of commitment)! Don't get me wrong, these are all by choice and we are equally grateful for the opportunities and excited about what's to come, but that doesn't mean there aren't some Sundays where the old college scaries creep in on a whole new level! Welcome to my blog. My creative outlet. A showcase of the blood, sweat and tears we are pouring into our new adult lives. A forum for countless other late-twenty-something-year-olds to share in the emotional roller coaster that is adulting. |
